It might be worth mentioning...
...that if want to use Windows and you buy an ATi All-In-Wonder card (it has TV-out), you not only get a remote control but just about all the software that Media Center and MythTV provides.

Of course if you don't use Windows, then an ATi AIW card is the last thing you want, because you won't get the drivers you need.
