Am I a real Linux user?
I don't see having the source code as a big issue in itself. But, then, I'm not a programmer. RPMs work fine for me. I don't recall the last time I actually had to compile something for it to work. Been a few years.

The possible issue I see is being able to include in in your distro. You don't want to install something only to discover it breaks some library file that other apps depend on. You need to be able to test your distro thoroughly so you need to be able to include it in your testing and you need to be able to give others the same distribution rights you have.

Will Adobe allow that? Or do I have to go to their website and download it after agreeing to their licensing terms? That would not be compatible with the GPL. Of course not having the source code to distribute wouldn't be compatible either. I would not be able to include it in my distro.

I could still use it and probably will. I just can't include it in my distro.

Maybe the forthcoming GPL will address this issue. Maybe Adobe will create a new license that allows this. Just have to wait and see. It would be nice to know that whatever distro I use will have the newer reader included so I don't wonder if something will break.

So, am I a 'real' Linux user or a 'fake' Linux user?
