Some of us who use Linux just want to get the job done ...
and we are really not into the religious wars over open vs closed source. Right now there are a number of open source, free software tools I can use to author, modify, or read PDF files, and that is good. But I still like to have Adobe's product on hand because sometimes it comes in very handy. I welcome Adobe's Adobe Reader 7 and am hopeful that some day soon they will offer a Linux version of Acrobat itself. They have a very good product in Acrobat and I am sure there are plenty on non-Geek Linux users that would consider purchasing it. So all of you Geeks out there are welcome to make sure that nothing closed soils your box, but I prefer to live in the best of both worlds and look forward to the day when closed source software becomes readily available for Linux.
