Blame everything on Microsoft! Sheesh!!!
Like the y2k bug was a Microsoft problem!?!? Give me a break!!! Everything from Cobol to Fortran was affected by that. Just be grateful people did the work they did. But, there's another probably greater problem lurking...

As to Macs being immune, that may have been true with OS9, but now with OSX based on BSD you may not be so lucky. Unix's y2k bug will creep in on January 19, 2038, unless something is done by then. Unix counts time as the number of seconds since January 1, 1970 in a 32 bit counter. Guess what, it'll roll over on 1/19/2038 (at GMT 03:14:07 to be precise). What time/date a Unix box will think it is after that depends on how the system handles it.

Here are some tests-

So, we have 33 years to come up with a fix. That's no doubt what the Cobol and Fortran programmers thought when they were writing their code in the 60's and 70's. But, I'm sure people will blame this on Microsoft too.
