Apple coming out with an iOffice
Oh yes please! Memories are so short! In 1999 computer using companies worldwide spent fortunes in the almost universal panic because Microsoft PCs only used 2-digit year recognition. What happened, basically instead of the Millennium Bang we had the Millennium Fizzle because Microsoft and other PC software manufacturers created various 'fix' progams using various algorithms to give new 'year break dates'. There was no standard for year break dates, these were decided by the program writer based on calculations as varied as the age of their dog x number of kilos lost by aunt Jane on her latest slimming diet! Last I heard the new 'year break date' for Excel (one of the MS office suit programs) was 2022. 'new year break' fixes were, and still are, short term answers to a problem which was not solved only delayed.
In 1985 Apple's were designed with a 5-digit year recognition so will happily chug along until year 99,999 with no date recognition probs.
As to MS pulling support for IE on Macs, to the best of my knowledge MS has not updated IE for PCs for the past three years.
I use both PCs and Apple, with a high preference for Apple.
