Linux isn't killing Unix
Unix is hardware oriented. You buy the box and get Unix with it. Linux is optimally designed to run on the X86 platform though it will run on others. So the X86 platform is mainly Windows Server and Desktops and Linux is taking huge bite out of Windows on the X86 Server. That's problem with Microsoft being purely software but it's not too big of problem for a corporation with the kind of cash that Microsoft has. Microsoft has nothing but options.

Also just noting from experience here that the Linux server that went into our Microsoft shop did replace Windows. Also Windows did replace 1 Unix box too.
