Also, typical of MS to now push to have it's proprietary WMF open to standards bodies. There are other equal or superior formats available but obviously they're "no good" since MS doesn't control or own them.

(ie, Instead of supporting the MPG4 initiative, MS had to go it's own proprietary way.

Ooh, wait... it was decided MPG4 would be based on Quicktime, MS doesn't own or control QT (despite various threats aimed at Apple). Guess that explains it. Another move by MS to benefit the user/consumer (cough). )
