The joy of standards.
Why do you think open source would escape Trusted Computing, were it to become the standard? Whatever the attitude of the developers, if customers believe the rules to be advantageous, they can demand open source comply.

And, in case you haven't noticed, the more success open source has, the more like proprietary software it becomes. Including outsourcing to the cheapest possible labor.
