I suspect...
...you're confusing Microsoft's Trusted Computing initiative and the Trusted Computing Group, which was formed by 'Advanced Micro Devices, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel and Microsoft' (according to the linked article). If you really fear all 'trusted computing', then you should fear AMD, Intel, HP, and IBM as well as Microsoft. Are you afraid of IBM 'taking over all things digital'?
