I don't think even John Carroll can make sense out of this marketing snafu. All I can see so far is that MS is paying lip service to security, with no tangible results.

The reality is, we probably won't see any real difference until Longhorn. It is simply not possible for MS to recover using the current broken product, and need to redesign an OS from the ground up with security as a bigger focus. Hopefully we will see that in Longhorn.
