There are plenty of proprietary products running on Linux right now. The huge Maya multimedia suite for one. This software sells for thousands of dollars and it runs on Linux. If they can do it, so can AutoDesk, or any other vendor for that matter. And these patent sharing agreements will end up facilitating that.

Why does the GPL even exist? Because of IP law. The GPL turns IP law on its head and there is no legal way to get rid of the GPL without destroying IP protection. The IP sharing agreements will go the same route. The free software people will turn them on their head. The possibilities are endless.
