A bunch of years ago Popular Mechanics had articles on how to build your own personal helicopter, too, but not too many actually did that. Sikorsky seems safe from this threat.

Linux has to crack the OEM channel to have any real success in the mass market and there is nothing in the cards that reads that as a likely event.
