Their numbers are short
It's going to be a lot higher than these numbers show. There some serious challenges documenting the spread of Linux. There are distros like Knoppix running around that are almost impossible to count because it's being distributed and copied from so many different sources.

You can't litigate it away, you can't fight it and you can't stop it. The only way MSFT will be able to compete against Linux and OSS is by offering value. And right now they're not doing it. So let the butt kicking continue until the clue light shines on Redmond.
