Your head is in the sand ...
Microsoft makes tons of money off of their software. Those companies selling Linux have, up until now, made little. That is changing. More and more Linux companies are making money according to analysts reports. When a product starts to make money, its obvious that it is starting to proliferate.

There are next to no major applications available for Linux. Linux has managed to get a minor market share even without major applications being available. Apple struggles to hold onto its market share even with major applications available. But now, major ISVs are making commitments to Linux and IBM and Novell will push those along. As major applications become available for Linux, its adoption will accellerate. More and more major corporate players are jumping on board the Linux bandwagon. Only a fool would ignore the obvious.
