Affordable is the keyword
Many companies such as Kawasaki Motors dump a ton of money into IBM though, it would be logical for IBM to help out with the search too.

Some smaller companies would have a difficult time picking this up. Anything of this nature would have to be very diverse in the amount of platforms. It would have to be able to sink its teeth into everything from Novell to Oracle, to SQL Server, to IBM iSeries and so on.
I don't see how IBM plans to go accross so many spectrums.

Ofcourse, they don't have near the mass of data as someone such as Wal-mart, but the amount of documents generated is impressive, and very difficult to sift through.
