There are too many government agencies using PeopleSoft for Oracle to dump it. My own opinion is that the biggest reason Oracle wanted it so bad was because of the government "in" it will give them. Let's face it-some of those agencies have poured millions into the PS interface and won't be dumping it anytime soon, but since Oracle now will be the owner... In five years or less, there will be the "dropping support totally" announcement requiring a big overhaul by the agencies and a big check to Ellison.

grin Gee, I hope the new Mrs. Ellison didn't have to sign a pre-nup. grin
