Combined product in 3 years...

The combined product rollout will likely be Oracle-based with Peoplesoft elements, given the strength of the Oracle design and the fact that this is ultimately a hostile takeover. That's probably great for future business management needs, but it makes for a rocky road if you currently have all of your eggs in PeopleSoft's basket.
Some organizations, chiefly government entities, don't have the ability to drop and roll with product changes like these, particularly when the architecture of other programs and products rely on the outgoing technology. So what are these customers to do, scuttle the project and rebuild? Know that your tax dollars are at work before you answer.
