Gackto... How is it in that alternate universe?
>>> Anyway I don?t know why you like apple so much? >>>

Maybe because most of what you state or believe is a) out of date; b) opinion; c) misinformed or d) comparing Apples and lemons.

>>> 1.Their OS has as many problems if not more than windows >>>

Please point out all these "many/more problems than Windows". OSX is not perfect but is no where near the problem inherent in using Windows and other MS apps.

Explain the (almost) weekly major bug & security alerts tied to various MS software vs minor or non-issue/non-existent Apple issues.

Otherwise, you're talking misinformation and/or BS.

>>> 2.Their computers are slower than pc?s but cost way more >>>

A blanket statement that doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

A home-built box may be cheaper up front but not a legitimate option for the vast majority of users and businesses, therefore a useless comparison. It's also a false economy... never takes into consideration time and effort (= cost not included) to build from scratch; no warranty or support, etc. Not even talking the extra effort in having to support an MS infrastructure (constant bug & security patches/fixes and extra security measures). (TCO/ROI studies have always favoured Mac over Windows). Windows... cheap thru the door, expensive forever more.

The cheapest Mac (eMac @ about $1000) stacks up well vs brand-name Wintel boxes for a majority of average users.

The G5 matches well vs any Intel/AMD box performance-wise (Virginia Tech chose off-the-shelf G5 Macs over various Wintel competitors based on price AND performance in building it's BigMac "super-computer"... the Mac/G5 can't be too shabby on both counts).

>>> 3.There are less programs available for Mac?s >>>

Overall, about the biggest "piece of crap" argument out there when dissing the Mac.

How many word processors, imaging, browsers, accounting, spreadsheet, etc apps does one need? Most of that vast number of extra Windows apps are not worth loading on a machine or are duplicates. Most of the top-of-class apps are available for the Mac or have equivalents (ie, Apple's iLife, Final Cut Pro, DVD Pro, etc match the best of any Wintel app).

The only shortcomings would be games and perhaps a few specific-business-apps but for the vast majority of users, the Mac has plenty of quality apps.

Quantity does not necessarily equal quality (or worthiness). Cockroaches also far outnumber humans so numbers alone do not denote a higher life form (better quality)

In fact, I'll claim my Mac has MORE apps at it's disposal than your Wintel box.

I have... native Mac apps (OSX and OS9 in Classic mode); many UNIX-based apps being ported to OSX almost every day PLUS, if needed, I can run any Windows app (other than high-end games) thru VirtualPC. So, I have the numerous Windows apps (such as they are) you boast about PLUS the many QUALITY Mac and UNIX-based apps.

>>> 4.Those programs that are available cost more then their pc counter parts >>>
Again, a blanket generalization that is bogus.

Most apps from the major players cost the same on either platform. Last I checked and purchased, all the Adobe and Macromedia apps cost the same for both my Mac and Dell boxes.

>>> 5.The old mac?s one button mouse that?s still a mystery >>>

Why? Many (most?) average users rarely use or even know how to use their right mouse button.

You can achieve the same functionality on the Mac's one-button mouse by using the Control key - click or just plug in almost any multi-button device and use it out of the box (may need specific software to gain full features but basic 2-button functions usually works fine).

>>> 6.Mac?s aren?t easily upgradeable >>>

One of many blanket statements that is plain wrong.

The G5 towers have everything easily upgradeable except the proprietary motherboard (a far cry from your claim).

The newest G5 iMac has an easily removable back panel that exposes all the major upgradeable components... intended for the home user and (relatively) non-tech person to easily change/add parts.

Most peripherals are cross-platform and the same cost (often plug & play). Scanners, printers, drives, cameras, etc.

Since Apple moved to "off-the-shelf" components and interfaces (drives, RAM, video cards, etc... approx. '97?), Macs basically use the same parts as the typical "PC".

>>> Well your last post already showed me how smart you are. >>>

Yes, it certainly did... NOT.

Troll or a typically misinformed Wintel-using Mac-basher? Only you know for sure.
