This will be a boost for Linux!
Why? Because Palm will inevitably be porting there PalmOS IP across to Linux and they will be needing to GPL the deeply embedded parts of it in order to comply with the GPL. Thus Linux will be taking another small step forward as additional proprietary IP gets added to the free software codebase.
