Not quite.
The patent system for software should be thrown out altogether.

I am not welcoming any patent to be used against Microsoft. Patents for software should be thrown out of the door including Microsoft's FAT patent.

If the EU approves this patent thing for software, Microsoft can potentially use this to litigate and make legal threats to EU governments, institutions and individuals for using open source software instead of Windows.

It is going to cost the EU and the world more because these patents for software are there especially to protect the interest of monopolies like Microsoft.
