The same as there is very healthy IBM today. The company underwent a metamorphasis when it lost its monopoly power and today is a highly respected leader in the field, as well as far-and-away the biggest computer company on the planet.

Microsoft will put some of that $50 billion to good use. If today's management don't provide the leadership, the stockholders will see to it that new management does. Exactly what the core business will be might be anybody's guess (I have my favorites here), but I would certainly take the bet that there will be a big, strong Microsoft 10 years hence.
