Are you saying that no 32 bit compiled app will benifit from a 64 bit OS?

If so you are wrong. Just try the shear addressing space available to the OS for physical to virtual address translation. (ie PTE's) this alone will increase performance as paging becomes a thing of the past, even if the app is limited to 4gig of virtual addressing space.

Many 32 bit apps do quadword calc now, re-building them for 64 bit will help tremendously.
