Why is it taking them SOOOOO LOOOOOONG?
MS wants to conquer the serious server market and they don't even have a working 64 bit offfering! UNIX moved SMOOTHLY (or close) from 32 to 64 bits almost 10 YEARS AGO. WHy is it so hard for this company with the innumerable resources to do something which others have already succeeded doing years ago?

Even Linux has 64-bit offerings since the turn of the century (see SGI ALTIX 3700 that goes up to 512 processors or Suse/RH, etc.)

They better let other more serious developers do the real work in the kernel and they should just stick to their office s/w. That would have save 100s of billions of $$$ and ALL that frustration to all.
