Good points, George, and I agree with everything you said.
MY concern is for my customer and I when he gets a little bit TOO big for me to handle, and the Eye of the Redmond Sauron turns to him and says "Why do you need OhBee? WE are so much bigger than him, you should cut him out as a middleman and just deal with us!" (Happened to me before: Novell did it to me.)

Then, after the MS Nazgul are firmly ensconced in what was formally MY White Tower, they turn to the customer and hiss "The database is MY precious, we should ELIMINATE these nasty Hobbitses (Oracle) and convert to SQL Server!"

See why Oracle needs to careful?
