Overworked fix = underpayed?
I agree adding more workers or spreading work out over time so that employees can have normal 8 hour work days is the solution. However each one has a cost. Spreading work out means games will take much longer to develop. While hiring more workers means either raising the budget for a game or newer workers will be hired in for lower salary or shareholders will get less from the bottom line. I have an interest in pursuing a career in the video game industry and I would not relish the thought that an industry which currently has fairly decent pay, in my opinion, that the higher pay might not be their for me when I want to get employed. Take the shareholders return on investment and pump it back into company growth and hire more workers I say.
