I am hard pressed to agree
While I'm sure that there are SOME people in the gaming industry, It's pretty hard to find it.
There is a common theme amoung the titles you mentioned"
Half-Life 2
Halo 2
Doom 3
World of Warcraft (What would that be? 4)
While they are pretty decent games; and I think Halo 2 is pretty darn nice; The Fun factor is like 4 years old. I'm not saying that all the games stink, but rather the basic FUN factor is decreasing or at a standstill, depending on which company we're talking about.
Making the shots I shoot, and the things I shoot look scarier and more real is nice. I appreciate it, really. But I'd rather more thought go into the playability of the game, and not into making secret moves and codes, so I have to buy an extra book to go with the games. I remember Mechwarrior II, and how fun that was, and then realize I'd rather play that than the newer games. Cool tech, but need more fun.
