I can tell you with certainty that this scandal (and it really is a scandal) has lowered the ranking of EA in the minds of university students who will soon graduate and enter the software industry.

Now that people have spoken out about this.. if EA doesn't actually make significant changes to their practices, I'll bet we'll see another similar situation in a few months time.. and then, EA will be permanently a pariah in academic circles (from which I hear they want to hire more and more people from.. so they definately don't want this to happen).
