Open Source isn't always better, though
Open Source isn't always better, though. Take gaming, for example: With completely open source it becomes nearly impossible to create a cheatproof multiplayer game, because cheating usually involves hacking the client. Unfortunately, closing the source only delays the time until somebody creates a cheat, but usually they can keep it closed long enough to make most of their profits.

Also, Open Source is not viable for all types of businesses. Sure, some businesses can make a good profit off of open source, but unfortunately, not all. I'm a programmer, I want to make my living creating software, not selling branded T-shirts or linux distros.
