Exact-damundo! This seems rather silly of Sun, but they were stuck with no real choice. Either open source Solaris entirely and have its best guts put into linux, or shut out linux and risk losing many (most all?) developers. I don't see this sailing very far, as linux is much more open and keeps in line with the open source philosophy. Sun restrictions will simply turn most everyone off. There will be no incentive to work on Solaris (with limitations) when you can work on linux (without limitations).
