The Reality of Linux
Anti-Linux people alway spout off that there are no Apps for Linux. That can't be farther from the truth. There are more applications for Linux than there are for Windows. As Windows user I find this frustrating. I go on to the web looking to find a app or tool do a task only to find tons of products that can do this for Linux and maybe 1 or 2 for Windows where they want a large sum of cash up front for it.

Now the Anti-Microsoft crowd always claims Linux can do everything Windows can do. In a sense that is true but the reality of it is this. You may buy that digital camera on sale at the big chain tech store only to find it has no support for Linux. Now that is a problem I've run into with certain video cards and digital cameras. With some searching I found a video card driver but the camera is still Windows only as it's an older camera. Anti-Microsoft people like ommit this information.

I've seen more and more for Linux in the past year that leads me to believe that the problems with Linux will disappear when it comes to hardware support.

Linux is worth setting up a dual boot system. Some tasks are just so much easier in Linux than in Windows. The other solution is to pay Microsoft for the Unix Services, about $90, it's pretty cool too but not quite as good as running the actual thing.
