"The Truth" post was the most insightful post present on the topic. So, I was rather suprised to see someone disagree with it.

I'm sorry, but you have to be intentionally misleading yourself not to see that. Indian labor is an order of magnitude cheaper, so production costs are significantly lower. How do you define "competitive"?

My evidence would be the fact that so many companies are doing it.

It's more complicated in the case of government (as opposed to a company), since government gets a lot of it's money back in the form of income taxes and not having to spend money on unemployment, so the actual savings by out-sourcing overseas is somewhat mitigated. But for a large tech company that is not the case.

I'm not convinced; maybe they're the most productive in the western world. But suppose Americans are the most productive, that still doesn't make them the most cost-effective.

Based on your response in part 1), I can't shake the feeling that many people have already made up their minds that they don't like job outsourcing because it threatens their job security (or job security of people they care about), and then they're subsequently making up arguments to justify that position after the fact. People seem to think that they have the right to have a job doing whatever it is they want to, which is not the case. Small farmers are significantly less efficient than large industrial farms and there is no reason they should expect to be able to do farming for the rest of their life, regardless of whether or not they've been doing it for the past 20 years. The same goes for any other profession.

Suppose you live in Indiana and don't give a damn about the tech sector because you're not in it. Why the hell should you be forced to pay higher taxes when the government insists on using local labor rather than the cheapest option for getting the job done. (This is again subject to the argument I gave above that those costs may not be substantially higher; but suppose they were.)
