Other Offshoring bidders
My work at this time is researching companies that are active in offshoring and companies that are not. I post listings of these companies on my web site, www.onshorealternatives.com. The action by the State of Indiana taking the contract back from TCS is definitely a great development for the tech workers of Indiana and our country. However, TCS is not the only bidder on the project that would performing the work offshore in India.

Based on an article in Computerworld from November 17, 2003, titled "Job agency hires foreign help" by Thomas Hoffman, (to be found at http://www.computerworld.com/printthis/2003/0,4814,87183,00.html) the two bidders who lost the bid to TCS were Deloitte and Accenture. Since they are both active in offshoring projects there is no reason to believe that either of these companies would have the work done by Indiana or even U. S. workers unless it is contractually stipulated by the State of Indiana. Interested parties should continue to be vigilant on the award of this project to any consultant.
