- Freedom of speech is irrelevent
-
Robert, you have never received spam from companies that you want to get it from, because that isn't spam. Spam is unsolicited commercial email: broadcast messages from people who have stolen your email address and are stealing your bandwidth to put it in front of you.
Freedom of speech is irrelevent. Governments do guarantee you the right to say something. However, they do not (and never have) given you the right to break into a print shop, ink up the blankets, and run off your own brochures.
When a spammer advertizes to you at your cost and without your consent, that is no different than the junk fax laws that have already passed the first amendment test. - Posted by: rbethell Posted on: 11/28/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
