Let's consider that.
When Red Hat comes out with an announcement they are doing X,Y and Z, you do not see me ranting about how it won't work. That is unless of course I have tried it and seen that it doesn't work. Now if there are people that want to see it, they may download it and give it a try and THEN make a judgment on it.

As to my having looked at it, I have an MSDN subscription so yes I have looked at it. What does it do? Nothing. It does nothing in and of itself, doing is left to the programmers and developers imagination. Avalon is simply a better video subsystem that takes advantage of advances in video technology. (Both from MS and the video card manufactures.)

It will not cure cancer, it will not end wars, and it may not have anything to do with calculating a spread sheet faster. But then, neither did the death of the green screen and the move to color monitors...
