They should open up the console market
I wish they'd (they = industry regulators) would open up the console markets. The CD player makers don't dictate who can and can't make CDs. The DVD makers don't dictate who can make DVDs, so why should the console makers be allowed to create a restricted market?

The console games are soooooo damn tired, same old formats again and again and again. They start calling them 'franchises' now, after the 5th sequel!

The closed market has created a few companies that create the games from a limited ideas pool. A more open market would result in more titles from more companies, and more people employed making the games.
