Windows XP SP2 and Earthlink Conflicts
It has taken me 2 months and many chats, emails and phone calls to finally get one tech at Earthlink to admit there might be a conflict with SP2 and their task panel. I have installed and uninstalled Total Access 2005 many times both with CD and download. I finally came across your email at ZDnet and was relieved to find that Iam not crazy. Have you found any resolution to the problem. Mine is doing the same thing, freezing, causing windows to say there is an Earthlink driver error and then closing Earthlink icon in the start bar and closing the task panel. Then when working I suddently get a system blue screen crash and the windows error comes up that I had a serious crash and the error report says it was an Earthlink driver. This is a new laptop. HP ZD7000 with upgrades on all fronts. I love it and have used Earthlink's IP for several years on my old laptop and my desktop. I now have a manual connection I made to Earthlink, but I cannot use any of the benefits such as finding local access numbers when traveling when not on line. We motorhome about 6 to 7 months out of the year. Have you found and solution? So far I do not seem to be able to get a definite response from either Earthlink or Windows. I just sent two emails yesterday, one to each asking if there had been any work on finding a solution. Surely, others must have this problem. Thanks for letting me vent a little
