Unfourtunately, The Older is far better...
If you had not yet made the upgrade to an Alternative Linux/BSD/Apple.
2kp or (even 98)(with a good, properly implimented hardware or software firewall & alt browser) is safer and less convoluted than XP.

In fact outside of consuming more hardware and/or resources there is little if any improvment over 2k. Just more wizards which often cause more problems than there worth.
And have to be corrected manually.

The security problems you speak of are still there in XP. because they never corrected the core problem, ActiveX, MShtml, Wscript. Just patch, Patch and patch yet again. And as I said they can be avoided with proper precations on any system.

If XP was not forced with most sales, it would not have the penetration it has.

Just cause it is new does not mean it is any better.

to the previous poster stick with 2kp you are not missing anything but headaches, or if interested checkout the alternatives.

May I suggest
