Before I retired, I was working in a Novell shop which had decided to switch over to Microsoft. I ran calculations on the disk space currently being used on our Netware 5.1 servers, then gave them (the powers who made this decision) the uncompressed disk space required to make the switch. Genius (the boy who made this decision for the switch) looked at my spreadsheet with all the data and said;

"We're in trouble. We'll have to buy a new SAN."

They're still using Netware, despite having Microsoft for a client.

I'm also reminded of when HP was sending out consultant to help companies make the switch from Netware to Windows. They lost their shirt on a major contract and promptly got out of the business. Conversion is not that easy, believe me.
