The corporation I worked for in the 90's mandated we become a Windows shop, which "froze" our existing Novell servers at v4.1.

I was told recently that they are still running on the original hardware I installed (Compaq Proliants-2x200mhz), while the Windows servers that we added have had to be upgraded twice due to increasing hardware demands by their MS operating systems.

Two of the Novell servers haven't even been rebooted since I resigned in November 2000.

Microsoft's offers will be worth something if they can ever match that kind of performance.
