Concrete target
Sun are aiming at Redhat because it's easier to target a a concrete target like a company - than it is to target a concept like open source, or a a community like Linux.

This is, I hope, a futile attempt to turn Linux into "just another product" by attacking the (current) large supplier for enterprise level servers.
