When Apple computers came out, they had to enter into an agreement with Apple records, and they agreed to steer clear of music publishing.

When Microsoft Excel came out, I was already an Excel user, and my copy of Excel had a trademark notice on it. It was my DOS software for on-line banking through Manufacturers Hanover Trust back in the days when on-line banking consisted of a 2400 baud connection to a 320x240 character blue and white screen.

Microsoft was not the first to come up with computer software called Excel. The only thing I wondered was why Manufacturers Hanover (Now JP Morgan Chase) let them.
