Linux is NOT Unix

Novell *already* competes with SCO when it comes to enterprise networking with a product called NetWare. Why is Novell not *already* in violation of this non-compete agreement with SCO? Because NetWare is not Unix. Neither is GNU/Linux.

SCO is like a malicious child who keeps shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. I suppose that sheeple can be forgiven for believing every word they read in a press release, but courts are not so naive. SCO will need to prove to a court that Unix and Linux are so completely synonymous, that legal agreements covering Unix (such as this non-compete agreement) also apply to Linux.

Talk is cheap. Some tiny, failing, Unix has-been shouts fire and without even asking "where?", we all jump up out of our seats and fight each other on the way to the door. I'll bet that every night, the employees at SCO go home with their faces aching from the perma-grin and constant laughter at how successful their charade has been.

I don't think the courts will think it is so funny, though.
