That's kinda funny...
The biggest reason I've chosen SuSE over Mandrake was for ITS hardware detection. SuSE can recognise my digital camera, sets up easy plug and play for my USB Smartcard reader, and now with 9.0 I can get K3b to burn DVDs (though before with 8.2 X-CD-Roast could burn them, but that took a lot of effort). Of course I haven't tried Mandrake since 9.0 so perhaps they've caught up.
