What is the big deal with searching the hard drives of one's PCs? The file-viewer already knows the type of the files and their other attributes.

Will this search mechanism allow remote parties (e.g., MS) to peek into the contents of one's hard drive?

Endless "technological" sophistication by MS, as long as they can stick their nose deeper into other people's private data or habbits....
