We could use Acrobat for Linux
It's pretty easy to make pdf files for linux using free (speech and beer) software that comes with most distributions. The key piece of software is Ghostscript.

However, there are some things that Ghostscript can't do, like make fill-in-the-blank forms or embed hyperlinks.

I don't need to do this, but I could see it being a very important appliction for office work.
