Wow...
Adobe on Linux, that?s a big move to legitimizing Linux as
a true alternative. With Adobe CS available for Linux, you'd
have a complete, powerful, integrated software suite for
creating and maintaining web content. Then you could run
your site right off the same machine, just like you can with
Mac OS X. What's next, Linux Quark, Linux Macromedia
Suite? The one suite of software we'll most likely never see
of course is MS Office. That would really make Linux a
Window's killer. The only reason Microsoft makes Office for
Mac is so they can say they aren't a monopoly. Open Office
is alright I guess, and I'm no big fan of Microsoft, but Office
is pretty refined and stable and works pretty well, especially
the Mac version. It's what everybody is used to. Plus there?s
no Exchange client either for Linux. Big, big issue in the
enterprise environment. I must admit, Linux has come a
very long way in the past five years. I can see why Microsoft
is so worried.
