Not the first time for Adobe
Adobe attempted to crack the Linux market several years ago with some publishing products, but sales were miniscule and they quickly backed away. This time Adobe is taking a much more calculated approach. They are opening channels of communication without commiting on the product level. That is a very wise move. There is a small market for Photoshop on Linux due to Linux desktop penetration of the film studio market, but that is somewhat muted by the fact that Photoshop runs almost perfectly on CrossOver WINE. A first step for Adobe should probably be to enable more Adobe products via WINE. That would take a very small investment from Adobe and still contribute to sales they would not otherwise be able to make. Adobe is making a good move and it will pay them dividends in the future. Welcome Adobe! There is room for Adobe products on Linux.
