Contrary to this article, what Apple is doing is
right on. They are very smart NOT to use
WMA, Microsoft's proprietary format. Why
would Apple what to support a format that
competes with their Quicktime? Instead they
are using iTunes for Windows as a conduit to
shore up Quicktime use on the PC against
MS's bundling onslaught. The more of Apple's
software and formats can become the defacto
standard, the more popular the Macintosh
platform will become.
