if you download from iTunes, Apple's wording in it's license
states that you can make 3 copies per song downloaded
through its store. this means that you can have a master
backup locked away, a copy for the car, and a third copy for
your home entertainment center (or where ever your little
heart desires), of course you can not give copies to friends.
this is hardly restrictive thanks to Steve Jobs who has many
friends in Hollywood and in the music industry. what is
great for Apple is the cashflow that will be generated.
iTunes is the best no matter what platform, and will be
even with windows and all of the problems associated with
running an os from m$. kudos for Apple for sharing iTunes
with the masses
