You need a clue, bitty.
---Hmm, have you read anything by Linus T. on the subject?---

There are so many ways to slap down your silly single lines of bit wit.

Perhaps you should give us all a link to the article where Linus says he is afraid. I've read practically everything of importance. I cannot find it.

On the practical side, perhaps you should read Groklaw so you can see how handily IBM is gutting newSCO's laughable claims. newSCO is, once again, amending their complaint. No doubt, this time, to leave out the allegations of copyright infringement. They've already dropped most of their other claims. That and the contract claims are all that are left. It is exciting to see the smooth professionalism of IBM's attorneys while they debunk every claim newSCO makes.

Now comes the best part. IBM does not hold many GPL'd copyrights. Just a few. Still, they are able to decimate the claims of newSCO.

Now, fast-forward. Your demi-god attempts to use patents to disrupt GNU/Linux. Imagine that! With IBM's patent portfolio I doubt there is anything in software they don't have at least one patent to cover. Patents are IBM's baliwick. Any patent claim against GNU/Linux will directly affect IBM's business. Do you think for one minute that IBM will stand idly by and watch it from the sidelines? If you do, you'd better start thinking (again?). Won't happen.

Any patent claims against GNU/Linux will have IBM, Novell, HP, and others standing firm with GNU/Linux. It is a battle that will not be won by anyone, especially your demi-god.

Gee, I bet chairman billy didn't make a contingency for this in any of his 'GNU/Linux doomsday' fantasies. Too late now. Old sins cast long shadows. The actions of MS screwing IBM will now come back to haunt chairman billy & co for a long time.

Hope you didn't pin your hopes for the future of MS domination on --patent wars--. If you did, you better learn to use a shovel. The skills of MS admins will be worthless 5-10 years from now. Any of you folks just starting out, don't sign any contracts to go $10,000.00 - $15,000.00 in debt with one of the MS bootcamps. You will be in serious trouble in a few years if you do.

What is obvious to me, and apparently others, is YOU are the only one afraid of patents. Nobody else gives it a second thought. Of course, with that being MS last ditch effort to maintain its monopoly, its easy to see how you would be scared.

hey, bitty, you've already demonstrated you desire to hide in gutters and shadows and are ashamed of your name. How about just the first octet of your IP address. I'll bet its in MS space. Another Barkto incident?
